Hola amigos! Sorry about being a bit Mexican today, I'm just excited about this new Mexican restaurant that just opened last month! Even more so than that, it's near home as well!! Located at Greenville, right across 19th Avenue, Maro Anders easily catches the eye with it's bright yellow sign and elegant yet homey exterior!
The interior is also sweet and comfy, very neat too, although for a Mexican restaurant, I was expecting something a bit more colorful and daring!
Tables here mostly consists of wooden slick park bench!
You're also gonna find many of these cute drawings all over the place! Keep a look out for them!
BLUEBERRY MOJITO IDR 20K
All I can say about this is; sour! Well, I knew it was gonna be sour but not this much! I should've seen it coming though, since it's blueberry and lime, but I expected the blueberries were gonna be merciful. Oh well, at least it was refreshing!
CHICKEN TERIYAKI WITH RICE IDR 45K
Chicken cooked with teriyaki sauce along with butter rice, served on a hotplate.
First of all, for IDR 45K, the portion of this was huge! For a very affordable price and satisfying portion, they didn't sacrifice the quality as well! The chicken was unbelievably tender with perfect seasoning, I just can't get enough of this beautiful dish and super appreciate the quality control of this restaurant, since not many would do the same!
Fyi, this rice ain't no normal rice, they used chopped herb to give it more taste and smell! Love!!
BEEF WESTERN MEXICAN FAJITA FOR 2 PERSON IDR 95K
Sliced of beef tenderloin, 2 chicken sausage, sunny side up egg, served with 2pcs tortilla and side dish.
For those who doesn't know Fajita; it's a grilled meat that is usually served as a taco on a flour or corn tortilla. Here, they served it in 2 packs, so you'll get a plate full of toppings, which is the meats, eggs, etc, and in the other is the tortillas. It's a D.I.Y. menu, so you are free to make it however you want! We prefer to not use the tortilla though, since we didn't really like the tortillas and we ordered a lot, so the tortillas will make us too full!
Ta-da! The said tortillas and some fresh lettuces if preferred!
Add some sauce or just as a dipping maybe?
This was a complimentary from the restaurant, since the owner is actually my friend's sister! What a small world we live in! Well, she said this is a hidden menu and I kinda forgot to ask the name. All I know this was like a pizza with a lot of meat and veggies! The balance of it was in perfect sync, which made it super good and smells nice too!
BURRITO WITH GRILLED BEEF IDR 95K
1 sheet tortillas with various meat choices of chicken, beef and fish, combined with shredded lettuce, tar-tar sauce, then mixed with a side dish.
There're 3 choices of meat for this one and we're up to some beef, so that's what we picked, and it was yummy! Most of the beef here tasted similar but since it tasted good, that's okay for me! Another thing, all of the fried dishes here were super crispy, even after I finished taking all of the photos, they still stayed crispy! Nice!
FRIED FISH SALSA BURGER IDR 55K
Burger with fried fish, served along with lettuce and tomato salsa.
Loved it! The bun wasn't anything special but the fried fish (like I said to all the fried dishes here) was super crispy! Even though it's crispy, you can still taste the wonderfully seasoned fish under all those fried flour!
These onion rings were not to be underestimated! Try for yourself and be amazed!
GRILLED CHICKEN BBQ IDR 65K
One thing is that I'm often strangely attracted to glossy foods, anything that has a glossy sauce all over it just gives me an eye-gasm! There's a lot of grilled chicken bbq that looked like this, but you won't find any other that tasted as amazing as this one! Don't know what kind of bbq sauce they used but it's de.li.cious!
Can you believe that these all just for 3 people? Don't judge us! :p
Oh! And before I end this, just wanna tell you one more thing! They also have an outdoor seat, but I don't really recommend it, since in this area, there could be a lot of mosquitoes! So beware, unless you wanna be sucked dry by those mini bug-formed vampires!
It's always a pleasure to have a decent restaurant near home, since most of my favorite restaurants aren't located in West Jakarta, so I'm glad to see this one! Best of luck Maro Anders!
