Closing the month with another restaurant from Grand Indonesia's East Mall! I'm guessing that they want to lighten up their east mall, since it used to be a bit deserted compared to west mall but now, there're so many new 'hip' restaurants here! This restaurant we're talking about today is another member of Ismaya Group located right across our last post, Nomz. Let's give a warm welcome to Publik Markette!

Ismaya Group is known for their cool concepts and I admit they're all amazing, even if the food sometimes doesn't catch up to the concept's level. Publik Markette's cool concept is another favorite of mine! If you're familiar with Ikea's canteen than this is similar to it, you grab your choices of main course to dessert in 1 place and I just found out that this concept is called Food Gallery, though here you need to grab your table number before ordering and they only use this concept in a certain time (will be explained on the bottom of this post), other than those hours, they serve by a la carte. The menu also changes everyday so that you people won't get bored!

Arriving at night, the place looks gorgeous and I bet it looks more pretty in the afternoon with natural sunlight and such!

Here's where you'll order up your meals, just like in a canteen!

One of the main courses when I visit was this beef short ribs! All the main course comes with choices of sides, like corn, Hainanese rice, cauliflower, etc, if you don't choose, they'll use the template side, for example this short ribs' template side is the Hainanese rice and the pork belly's is corn.

Salmon, anyone?

Yes, they also have my lovely Pork Belly!

Roasted Cauliflower here! Anyway, all the foods on display here are just mise en place, which means that all half cooked so it will be cooked again before they serve it, so you'll have a nice and warm meal!

Beautiful quiches are also available!

For drinks, how about this refreshing yummy cold pressed juice?

Let me briefly explain how the number thing works. At every table, there'll be a number on a stick and you have to bring that to the counter each time you're gonna order something, it's so that they know where to bring the foods to!

Other than the cold pressed, they also have this Power Smoothies that cost IDR 45K! Made from fresh fruits and vegetable, guaranteed to boost your health! My favorite is the Immunity and Happy Belly! :D

These are some foods that I didn't really try but looks so tempting that I just can't not take any photos of it! I'll let your imagination decide how it all taste!

This one is called BBQ Pulled and you have to crack that half boiled egg, so that the egg yolk will melt and cover the whole thing, then just dig in!

Delicious half chicken that I'm guessing is marinated in beer! Seasoning's perfect though it was still a bit red, which everyone knows is a big NO when it comes to chickens, so that was a disappointment and dangerous! Other than that slightly big mistake, it was all good!

The highlight of today's meal!! I love ribs, especially if it's really nicely seasoned and super tender like this one! The ribs are exquisitely perfect when eaten with the chili! Really worth the price and I totally recommend this one!

Even though I did say the short ribs are the highlight but this is MY HEAVEN! Perfectly crispy skin with tender meat accompanied with the perfectly grilled corn! I'm in a pork belly wonderland!! 2 pieces are definitely not enough and I gladly paid the IDR 155K for this dish! Yum!!

Since I had to leave before the event ended, I missed the whole dessert tasting!! NO!!! Guess you know what I'll be ordering on my next visit then? :D Wait for me desserts! I'm in bliss knowing that Ismaya paid attention to their food quality this time. Way to go, Ismaya, that's how you do it! Keep up the good work!!

Hey folks! As you might or might not know, I'm going through my exams these days and I can gladly say that it's going well! Hope that it'll go well 'till the end and thank you for the prayers you might have given! Wish you're doing great too if you're going through exams as well!!
Anyway, is it just me or do you also think that Grand Indonesia is a very fast updated mall, it's like every month there'll be new restaurants and cafes, especially in the east mall. This time, it's the widely talked about restaurant by the most adored celebrity chef, chef Arnold Poernomo in collaboration with the talented pastry chef, Kim Pangestu, called Nomz Kitchen & Pastry!!

Located near the newly opened dessert heaven Union Deli, on the lowest floor at East Mall. The corner is supposed to be a poor traffic spot but because of how advanced social media is nowadays, you can be assured that this place is not gonna be deserted, especially since Union Deli, whose waiting list is never empty, is right beside it!

The tempting pastries made by Kim Pangestu! Yum~

Since Chef Arnold is in command here, high expectation comes natural! The name's totally catchy and cute, so that's a thumbs up!

Went here at 11 AM and it was already crowded! Guess these are people who's really updated in the social media world to have heard the news this fast!

A window to peep into the kitchen or on a certain someone! *wink wink*

How do we greet every single customer? With a cool greeting card on every table, of course!

Braised pork belly on soft roll, pickled carrot, coriander, cucumber, chili and mayonnaise.

PORK!! Whoops, too excited! Well, the pork's beautiful and perfect, as always, but the baguette kinda brought me down. All the toppings just compliments each other nicely, if only the baguette wasn't that hard to chew, it'll be a perfect Bahn Mi!

Jasmine rice, eggs, wagyu beef, chives, and garlic crackers.

The Indonesian's popular street food taken to another level! Making the usual crazy rice (nasi gila) that you can find almost anywhere here in Jakarta a restaurant worthy dish by adding wagyu and jasmine rice, which are both amazing! You can also add Foie Gras for another IDR 150K, which I didn't and it's already this good, can't imagine how it'll be with the Foie Gras!

Crispy duck leg with spiced hoisin, chili chutney, green mango salad, steamed buns.

Nothing really special about this dish, it's like any other crispy duck leg. Good, just not amazing and another thing; what's with that pancake?? Crispy duck leg and pancakes? I was expecting that the innovation would have taken it to amazing but all it did was crashing and burning it! The salad, sauce and chili was fine though!

Half roasted baby chicken with roasted vegetable.

Out of all I had here, this and the crazy rice are my favorites! This baby chicken's the bomb! Good seasoning and tender meat! Though I guess it's not consistent yet, since my friend said that when they tried this, the chicken was too dry, not as moist as the one you see here. Hope it's all fixed now!

Dessert time!!! :D

THIS.IS.SUPERB!! Rich cream even though the Baileys doesn't stand out, I still loved it! The eclair's texture is also crispy yet firm with gorgeous garnish to top it off! Don't just take my word on it, go try it yourself right now!

Perfectly jelly glazed raspberry mousse with salted caramel in the middle and cookie based! The raspberry has a nice even taste of sweet and sour that is actually too strong for the salted caramel and so, overpowering it! Still, I'd recommend this and love the name by the way! Let's Be Merry!

Firstly, I'll just say that I love milk and this is like a heaven to me! Rich milk taste with a fluffy sponge cake and a tint of crunchy nuts! I can confidently say that all the desserts here are to my liking!

A compliment from the famous celebrity chef! If I'm not mistaken, I think the name is Nomzfin or something. The texture is similar to cronut if it isn't one and it's filled with chocolaty goodness! Yum!! I think I prefer the desserts more than the mains here and it's got nothing to do with my sweet-tooth!! (Okay, maybe it does, just a little.)

With all the new restaurants opening here and there, we can't deny that the rivalry is getting higher and tighter, but I think Nomz can definitely survive as long as they keep improving! Grand Indonesia is one of the malls that has strong competitors in the food industry and their gonna earn another member soon, which is Benedict! Yeah!

25 January 2015

I realize it's often raining for quite some time now. Hope that there won't be any flooding this year and stay warm, everyone! Still, rain can't get between us and foods, so here's another new spotting at Menara Bank Danamon, Mega Kuningan! You can clearly see it even from when you have just entered the building, while still in the car, since it's located on the lobby. This elegant restaurant that'll make you feel like you're in Europe is called Bottega Ristorante, which is a sister brand of Wilshire! (No wonder it looks so gorgeous!)

Like the usual, they separate smoking and non-smoking room with indoors and outdoors, which I'm highly glad about! Personally, I think that's the most efficient way of separating it. Anyways, I don't really know why but the interior has an air that is really similar to Wilshire, maybe it's the black and gold color?

Can't help but admire how the place is so elegant and warm at the same time!

I think I'm in love with the whole interior, especially these lamps that looks like a sky full of stars! (Yes, I love Coldplay!)

Usually at lunch time, you'll see a lot of people from the office here, some of them are those respected VIPs!

Not just what's on top but these below also captured my heart! Look at those details of the peacock feather, which by the way, symbolizes beauty!

BEST SPOT, in my opinion and don't you just think it's a very romantic corner? Who do you picture sitting there in front of you? :P

Salsa verde, artichokes, dill, red radish, pan fried capers.

Bet you're surprised when I say that this is actually a main course! Yeap, I also thought it was an appetizer if judged by the looks and portioning, guess this is just how 'fine dining' rolls, still, I think 4 slices of tuna can't be considered a main course! The tuna is beautifully cooked though, a perfectly seared outer part with a fresh inner part and you can really tell that they used a high quality tuna, cause it doesn't smell fishy at all!

If eaten with the tomato reduction, it has this slight sour taste that I don't really favor and you can probably guess that I'm not a big fan of tomatoes but thumbs up for the pretty presentation!

It's a HIDDEN MENU!! Kinda expected something spectacular because of that though, and was disappointed! The purple mash's just too sweet for this combination, not complaining when eaten alone but when combined; it's just too weird! Not that offended by the beef cause it's tender and is actually a good sized piece, even though it looks small in the photo but there's just a slight problem with the smell it produced, which I suspect, is from the red wine!

Braised beef ragout with demi glace sauce & a touch of cream.

Knowing that they're sisters with Wilshire, who could produce awesome pastas, I'm confident that the pasta will turn out good and I was not mistaken! A very nice texture, the papardelle has, the same does not go with the beef though! The beef was way too hard to chew, so it sort of clashed with the beautiful papardelle! I'd happily leave out the beef just for those pasta, certainly this made into my least favorite dish here!

I first tried Tres Leches at Bluegrass and it was AMAZING!! Made with 3 kinds of milk, this cake is really milky and fluffy! Too bad this one here was a bit lacking in that kicking flavor, I guess you have to eat it with the cream and caramel sauce to at least, step up the taste!

And here's the outdoor! Ain't it lovely? I admit, there's no other outdoor like this but still, it can be hot in the afternoon, since we are living in Jakarta!

I'd totally recommend this for a photo-shoot cause every corner of the interior here is just ravishing! If you're looking for a proper meal however, I'd suggest you look elsewhere..maybe it's the newly opened curse, so their quality control is still lacking! Again, they're sisters of Wilshire, which somewhat adds on to the burden, cause everyone would have high expectations! Fyi, they're serving Common Grounds coffee, which might be a better option than their meals!

I just hope they'd get better soon cause the place is just too beautiful to miss! Wish Bottega the best of luck for a better future!!
