Yeah!! We're sooo excited to share this with you guys! It has just opened like a couple of days ago but we just can't wait and went here on a day after they've opened! Here's a place where you can dine while being accompanied by these cute penguins, it's Pingoo at Neo Soho!
31 December 2016
Here's what every coffee lovers been buzzing of! From Australia, now to Indonesia, yes, this famous coffee house has found a home here in our beloved Jakarta and into the rising star PIK Avenue no less. It's Toby's Estate everybody!
30 December 2016
Sorry for being super late at this but Merry Christmas everybody!! Better late than never, right? These days must have been a week of Christmas dinners and get-togethers, so we want to give you another one to add to your list of possible venue, it's Arts Cafe from Raffles Hotel!
28 December 2016
Yet another international brand has opened a branch in Jakarta! Yeah, this time it's the super popular Halal Guys from New York, coming to Jakarta on late January 2017 in Senayan City. To be honest I have never tried the real one in New York, so I can't really compare. Heard that in New York, they're only on a food truck but the line to get one of these is endless!
So recently I've been interested in searching for a restaurant that isn't too popular in the social media world and I found this hidden gem in Serpong! It's called Tore Tore Restaurant and obviously serves Japanese cuisine. When I browsed it in Instagram's location tag, the foods looked appetizing and photogenic, so up we went!
26 December 2016
The type of restaurant that is very similar to Nando's, if you've ever heard about it. It's that chicken with peri-peri sauce and this is the Indonesian version! Located in Kota Kasablanka near Chung Gi Wa, this place is called Casa De Peri!
25 December 2016
Yeap, it's yet another coffee shop! Jakarta's been booming with them, huh? But this one's not exactly a new comer though, it's been here since last September but because it's in Alam Sutera, which is pretty far and don't get me started on the traffic jam, so we only got the chance to come visit now. Here's HomeBrew Coffee House everybody!
Another gelato haven has appeared in Jakarta!! Whoop whoop! This time it's located at Senayan City, the name's Aroma Gelato and the place is pretty simple and not to mention small. No matter, as long as they serve good gelato, those details can be overlooked! Besides, though small, they still have some seating!
22 December 2016
This is a restaurant that probably not many knows, even I didn't know about this if it isn't for Alex from Eatfolks! Guess it's because the location is pretty hidden, which is in Gading Batavia building at Kelapa Gading. If you're familiar with Kelapa Gading area then you would recognize this building as KTC. The only thing that is still alive here is only the Hypermart, even some of my friends who lives in the area didn't know about this restaurant called Hwang Geum Bab Sang!
19 December 2016
Who doesn't know this handsome chef here? Yeap, it's Chef Juna and this time we went to try his restaurant in Kuningan called Correlate! For exact location, it's in Menara Rajawali. It's pretty easy to spot with this huge sign just in front of the place!
30 November 2016
Hey there fellow travelers and non-travelers..hehe. Actually, this is a travel that I did for more than a week in May and the destiny is NTT, Flores. Came here just for a vacation to escape the busy life of Jakarta! It's also one of the things that is in my bucket list this year cause I've been dying to visit and explore this beautiful place! Went here with Fun Adventure tour with a 6D5N package (6 days, 5 nights). The package already included sailing and Overland Flores. What's that you ask? Well, sailing is for all the water activities, like the boat you use to travel between islands for example, then we have overland, which is like you may have guess, it's the land activities, like exploring Labuan Bajo and Ende. At first, I was also blind about Flores, like is it an island or a city or whatever but after this adventure, I finally learnt a lot of things! That is the beauty of traveling, isn't it? So I want to share this little knowledge that I have to all you lovely readers out there!
Labuan Bajo here is like the city, it's like the Jakarta of Flores and Pulau Komodo is like the Pulau Seribu. You need to use a boat from the harbor to roam about them, whereas Ende is also another city, like Surabaya. Places like Wae Rebo and Kelimutu lake is actually in Ende, to get to Ende from Labuan Bajo, you can either go by plane or just by car, which will take about a day, so I recommend the plane if you have limited time!
From where I live, which is Jakarta, I went to Labuan Bajo by plane, which can either go directly or transit to Bali and there's not much difference on the price, probably about 3 million rupiahs for the two ways direct ticket! The tour usually starts early, around 9 am, so I decided to depart from Jakarta a day before the tour, which is on May 4th and the tour starts from May 5th - 10th!
A bit of warning that this will be a pretty long post with mostly pictures on it with me less talking, though I think it's contradicting what I'm doing now, but trust me, the more you scroll down the less you'll read me yapping! XD
Now, let's start this exciting adventure!
Welcome to this gorgeous hotel! I'm not kidding, I was literally in awe upon entering the place! It's not a super grand and luxurious hotel but more of a luxurious house. I guess that's they're concept, an expensive looking home sweet home, even the staffs are all super friendly unlike other hotel, where you need to be posh, polite and distant!
29 November 2016
Good evening from Grand Hyatt Jakarta! C's restaurant from Grand Hyatt has earned themselves a new chef called Chef Hugo Bertolini and we got to experience his cooking! He's here to introduce us his creations, which is C's restaurant's new menu and also some Christmas dishes! What a wonderful sign that Christmas is near! :)
Of course, if it's not PIK, it's Senopati. You can always count on them for some new dining spots! This time it's a cute restaurant called Gioi in Senopati! Exact location is right next to Cacaote (yet another post that has to do with Cacaote..lol!)
27 November 2016
Here's yet another new member of Pantai Indah Kapuk and we're super psyched to try it cause it's from the famous Cacaote! Well, since it's Cacaote, we definitely have quite an expectation, plus I like the funny name, Social Affair, sounds exciting..lol!
25 November 2016
Who's ready for a healthy lifestyle? Wait, let me rephrase that..who's in need of a healthy lifestyle? Lol! Being healthy has always been something that we have in our minds but always tolerated, though we know it's wrong. Which is why we're thankful for these kind of opportunities from these kind of restaurants! Here's SaladStop! that you'll find at Senayan City!
The newest Korean restaurant here, Koba! Though it's not exactly in Jakarta but in Living World, Alam Sutera. Exact location is near Nama Sushi at the lowest floor. A bit of a bummer that they don't serve pork here, making them a Halal restaurant but I guess that's okay. They said that they wanted to be a chain restaurant, so by including pork would be a bit of a risk, totally understandable!
22 November 2016
Newest member of Boga Group! A totally different style from other Boga Group members, so we're definitely excited to see what Boga Group has in store for us this time! There're grill, suki, and also a buffet, all within an affordable price. I bet you just can't wait to see what it is, let's start!
12 November 2016
Okay, so this is our 2nd review about Gia here, since the last time we went here was in 2015. How time flies, huh? Looking back at our last post about this, we realized how far we've come and improved! Can you see the different styles and angles? Lol! We do hope that we'd keep improving for the better and please do keep on supporting us! We appreciate each and every one of you! :D
05 November 2016
Sorry, didn't realize that this is yet another restaurant in Pantai Indah Kapuk. Yes, I guess PIK is in the season of new restaurants. This one's called Epoch and it's pretty eye-catching because of that giant clock drawing!
31 October 2016
Okay, who's ready for yet another all you can eat feast? This time it's called Kintan Buffet and located at Puri Indah Mall, my old times favorite mall! Concept wise is similar to Gyu-Kaku, but Kintan is from the same group as my favorite, Shaburi. Here you can also get your own food on the buffet stall in the middle of the room like in Shaburi!
Do you guys remember our post about Coffee Lounge? Well, this is from the same owner, Rebecca, so it's no wonder that the interior is similar. That classy grey hue-ish type and this new restaurant is named Akatama Sushi, located at PIK Avenue Mall, near Starbucks!
Back again to Hurricane's Grill that first opened in Indonesia at Senopati but this time we went to their 2nd branch at Noble House, Kuningan! It's a new building, so it's not well known yet, even the lobby and parking lot is still half done when I came here. Exact location is at Kuningan's roundabout, it's on the GPS, so don't worry!
29 October 2016
Congrats for the opening of Attarine! News flash; Attarine here is from the same group as Potato Head. Came here at dinner time, since they'll only be open for lunch today at 29th October 2016! Be sure to go check them out now!
The foods here is a mix of Indonesian, Western, and Eastern. I guess you could say it's an all in one..lol! What I'm saying is that they literally mix those cuisine into a single dish and they're not playing around when it comes to spices!
Yo party people! Good news to all of you cause Lucy In The Sky has finished renovating! Heard the gossip about Lucy closing down because it got complaint a lot by people of the apartment nearby? Well, that's just a rumor cause the truth is that they're just renovating! Fyi, for those who don't know, Lucy here is located in SCBD area!
26 October 2016
Here's a mall that we don't visit often, it's Cilandak Town Square, also known as CiTos! The restaurant we went to here is something very Italian, known for their pizza and pasta. Located at their 1st floor, which is super easy to find seeing as CiTos only has 2 floors..lol! What's funny about this place is their name, Second Home, yeap, as you can guess, their concept is that they want to produce superb foods that customers would want to come back again and again, making the restaurant as if it's a second home to the customers!
Yet another new member has arrived at Pantai Indah Kapuk called Nokcha! Found this from Ivy and because I don't have any other idea of what to try at PIK, so Nokcha it is. Came here when they still have a soft opening promotion, which is 20%!
24 October 2016
Who's ready for yet another all you can eat shabu-shabu?? I know I am!
As we get older, health is becoming more of a concern, at least that's how it is for us and one of the things that affects your health is food, which is why we'd choose shabu-shabu for an all you can eat rather than grilled foods! Yes, you can consider shabu-shabu as a healthy yet enjoyable alternative!
23 October 2016
This isn't exactly a new restaurant as they already have an outlet at Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia but this is their first outlet that is not in a mall. It's called Beau and I think that you're all familiar with this, their new branch is at Cikajang road in Senopati area. More specifically across of Mister Sunday and Cut The Crab. For those who aren't familiar with the place, this is a patisserie where you can enjoy delicious pastries made by Talita Setyadi, which is also the owner by the way!
19 October 2016
Who's ready for a new wave in town?? Already got tired of the coffee hype? Now we're gonna get into a new one and it's something that is loved for all ages, it's hot chocolate!! Who doesn't love a good thick hot cocoa? This group of buddies who loves Max Brenner has come together to bring the chocolate culture to our own J-town and it's starts here at Kakolait!
30 September 2016
Still in Thailand here..lol! Yeap, it's another famous tourist spot, Chocolate Ville! This time it's at night, actually this place looks pretty both at night and day but they only open from 4 PM or something. We planned to catch the daylight of this place but it's just way too far and with the traffic jam, we couldn't make it! :'(
Wohoo!! It's the first time Lulabyspoon went on a trip together to a foreign country! It's Thailand and we didn't come here alone, we went here with some good friends for a short getaway!
So I decided to share about this because of the high demand, which made me realize that this city attracts a lot of attention from my Instagram and Snapchat follower! XD Here it is, my 1 day in Malacca, enjoy!!
Hello Muara Karang! Hello Samyang Lovers! Yeap, this is a post for those people, it's a newly opened ramyeon house at Muara Karang called Raffe Ramyeon. Still freshly opened, like a week or 2 and I immediately knew about this place because my friend is the interior designer for the place!
29 September 2016
Do you guys remember that we blogged about this place in 2014? It was the Gyu Kaku at Plaza Indonesia and now they have launched yet another branch in the newly opened mall Neo Soho! Wohoo! Another difference is that this one offers both an all you can eat and a la carte system. We went here to try their all you can eat, since we already tried the a la carte before!
While hanging out at Gandaria City with some friends, we came across this interesting spot called Hoolala Chicken located in front of Fook Yew. It used to be Thai Alley but I guess it's replaced with this now. Don't really know if this is a franchise or something and have never heard of the name as well but it piques my curiosity!
So, remember that we've posted about Nama Sushi in Baywalk? Well, they've opened another branch at Living World! Whoop whoop! Plus, not only a new branch but they've also come up with some new menus and we got the chance to try it. Here we go!
28 September 2016
People of Bandung, how lucky you are to have this unique and super cool place! Just looking on their Instagram photos made us want to immediately visit it! Basically One Eighty here is a coffee shop, though I don't really know why it has the word 'music' on their name..anybody has an idea?
27 September 2016
This is a super popular spot when we were in highschool! It's called Negev and there were plenty of photos taken at that signature Negev sign. Don't really know how it became such a hit that we even went to try it with our friends! When we came here years ago, it used to serve mostly western foods, like steaks and pastas. Honestly, it was nothing special. If I remember correctly, this is also owned by a celebrity making it more popular, especially since it's located next to Blowfish!
If you're a fan of Korean foods, then you might be familiar with this place called Mr. Park. Either that or you often visit Grand Indonesia's food court..lol! This here is also called Mr. Park but the one at Grand Indonesia is more of its casual dining, like BornGa Express!
31 August 2016
So I got contacted by someone I really didn't expect! I guess you could say she's an old friend and I'm always excited to get in touch with a long lost friend. Met her in my trainee days back in college and now we're both already working! She works here on a hidden gem called FIFI Bistro at Srengseng!
30 August 2016
To those who loves Chinese food, you're probably familiar about this restaurant, since they're pretty popular. Located at Sawah Besar, they've just got renovated! It's said to used to be a small and very old-school Chinese, now it became way more modern with a better choice of colors, without getting rid of that family restaurant feeling, nice!
This place has just opened last month and it's already surrounded with families! Well, this kind of foods is a typical family type foods, so I guess it's no wonder. It's called Holyduck and located in Pantai Indah Kapuk, though you need to pay attention when you're searching for this place in daylight, since the sign is white colored!
29 August 2016
Again another one has opened in Pantai Indah Kapuk! Keep an eye out people, cause I think this area will get lots and lots of newcomers and not only in F&B but also their residence! This time it's a Thai cuisine located in line with Saine Daise, called LARB. They have a 10% discount as their opening promotion, only until this 31st of August!
Okay, this is officially the best shabu-shabu I've ever tasted in Jakarta! The quality of the meat really says it all, just look at those marbling! Getting the opportunity to try this place is really a blessing! This amazing place is called Shabu Shabu Gen and it's part of Les Amis Group, located in The Plaza on the 46th floor, where Altitude and others are!
To those who's been to Singapore, this is probably something you're very familiar with, it's Singapore's famous street food bak chor mee and now it's available in Jakarta! Yeah!! H5 used to sell bak chor mee as well but since they've closed down, the only spot to find it is here, called Yong He Noodle, I really hope that this one will stand still!
27 August 2016
No, you're not on the wrong post, this is Coffee Sixtynine but they do sell samcan here! XD Coffee and pork lovers, now you can come together in this controversial coffee shop..lol! Why controversial, just look at it's name, I didn't get it at first, but then my friend told me..I'm too naive for this hahaha!
So who's ready for something very different, cause today we're gonna go for Peruvian cuisine! Yeap, for those who don't know what Peruvian is, it's from Peru, a country in South America. It's said that even though it's a country from the West, their cuisine is highly similar to Asian's with it's strong flavor and everything. Well, if you're interested in this Peruvian cuisine, you can head out to a restaurant here in Jakarta! The place is called Pavela and located in Pondok Indah Mall 3!
26 August 2016
Calling all unagi lovers! This is a spot for you! An unagi specialist restaurant has arrived in town, located at Plaza Senayan, in the corner near Zara and it's called Unacho!
