House of Yuen here is created by Sung Tung Lok, the leading number 1 Michelin Star restaurant in Hongkong. It's a fine dining Chinese cuisine and everything just seem so high quality. Located at Fairmont Hotel, right next to 1945 restaurant!
Interior's super gorgeous and grand, all just look so classy. Even the customers all look like royalty. It's also a la carte here instead of buffet with a very peaceful ambiance, just like how eating in a castle feels like!
Upon entering, you'll see this round table on your right and a table of 4 on your left, close to the source of light!
Lucky we went here on an event, so we got to try some of their chef's favorite! Thank you for the opportunity!

DICED OX TONGUE IN XO CHILI SAUCE
Super tender! Why does it have to be so small?! :'(
CRISPY FISH SKIN SALTED EGG YOLK
Unbelievably good!!! Similar to Irvin but much fresher, since it's not a packaged food!
DEEP FRIED PRAWNS WITH WASABI AIOLI
The wasabi is just the right amount.
OLD FASHIONED SMOKED GAROUPA FISH FILLETS
SPICY IMPERIAL HOT AND SOUR SOUP WITH LOBSTER
You'd wonder why the soup is so full of toppings, right?
The filling is different types of mushroom and a great amount of lobsters! I don't really like how the soup is sour tho, but I guess it's preference.
BRAISED PRIME RIB WITH HOUSE GRAVY
Hands down, eyes closed, the best! Delicious and tender, and cooked for 8 hours!
KING PRAWNS WITH CHEESE
Those sprinkles are like some super crispy floss with cereal. It's unique but the prawn is a bit overcooked I guess and the cheese doesn't really blend well!
BLACK COD FISH WITH MISO SAUCE
This also got me a bit confused cause usually I love black cod fish but this one taste really different! Maybe it's in the miso sauce and the soggy texture? That black crisp thingy is good tho, even if I still don't know what that is!
MINCED WAGYU FRIED RICE
It's such a waste for wagyu to be minced like this actually, since it'll taste like usual beef. :'( I also think the rice here is not dry enough to be a good fried rice. Might not be oily but to swallow it needs some effort. I was putting a high expectation on this too!
Lastly is dessert! Yay! It's mango and this Michelin Star restaurant is definitely up to date, since it is mango season. This is a Mango Pudding with Vanilla Sauce, the vanilla sauce here uses fresh milk, so it's like pudding with low fat milk.
